The kilometres, next to the receipts
Import the mileage spreadsheet you already keep, look up a route, or type the odometer at the start and the finish. Crumbli stores the logbook the vehicle claim is built on.
What you can record
Trip fields the CRA logbook expects
Each trip keeps its date, purpose, origin, destination, and kilometres. The year-opening and closing odometer readings live on the business profile, so total kilometres for the year are a subtraction Crumbli does.
Bring the spreadsheet you already keep
Upload a CSV or TSV. Crumbli suggests which column is the date, the distance, and the odometer pair. You confirm the mapping, then the rows are written. A file that already has both an odometer pair and a distance column is checked for disagreements before you commit.
Or log one trip from addresses
Enter where you started and where you finished. Crumbli looks up the driving distance. Saved routes are there for the trips you repeat.
Or type the odometer
For a loop or a day of stops, enter the start reading and the finish reading together. Kilometres are the difference. Both numbers are typed after the trip. Crumbli does not read an odometer from a photo.
Framed for how the vehicle is owned
A sole proprietor’s fuel receipts and a corporation’s per-kilometre allowance are different claims. The app states which case your business structure and vehicle ownership put you in, and the logbook is the kilometre record behind it.
Priced at the CRA allowance rate
A trip can carry the CRA per-kilometre rate for its year and province. Whether that dollar figure is the amount you claim depends on the vehicle case. The logbook shows the kilometres either way.
How a trip gets into the log
- 1
Set the vehicle on your business profile
Province, business structure, and who owns the vehicle decide how the kilometres are treated. Opening and closing odometer readings for the year live here too.
- 2
Import the log you already have, or start fresh
Upload the spreadsheet and confirm the columns, or add trips one at a time from Trips.
- 3
Choose how each new trip is measured
A route between addresses, or a start and finish odometer you type. Purpose, date, and the from/to places stay on the entry either way.
- 4
Hand the logbook over with the receipts
Trips export with the rest of your records. The expense register uses the kilometre split your vehicle case calls for.
Outside the logbook
- Trip capture by GPS (start when you leave, stop when you park) is not part of Crumbli.
- Odometer readings are typed. There is no photo or scan of the dashboard.
- Crumbli does not compute a corporate standby charge or operating-cost benefit. It keeps the kilometre inputs and stops there.
- Mileage is on the Business plan. The Educator plan is the school-supply workspace.
Receipts still arrive on their own paths: upload, phone camera, email forward, Slack, or Gmail. See how capture works.
Pricing
The logbook is included on the Business plan: $10 per month per business (200 receipts included), or $96 for the year. Prices in Canadian dollars. The plan includes a 30-day free trial.
